I read this book after reading the prologue book, Maybe This Time, which is a fairly simple story of Stone the rock star, and his bodyguard, Jackson. As soon as they see each other, there is an immediate attraction. The book continues with that theme, and as they become friends, the attraction grows but Jackson feels that due to Stone being his boss, he must not cross the line but must concentrate on doing his job. I must admit that I was hoping for something deeper with this book but, unfortunately, the story continues in that vein. The story is very sweet and all the characters are very nice and sweet. Even all of Stone’s fans are sweet. There really is no angst, no nasty comments on social media and no hint of any danger even though the subject matter just opens itself up for something dangerous or scary to happen to Stone. Most of the main scenes take place in Stone’s hotel room. We don’t get to see Stone’s interaction at meetings, nor the process of him writing songs or practicing his guitar or whatever else famous singers do to keep their dream alive, we don’t even get a visual description of any of his shows. Where is the guitar-wailing rock star that drives the fans so wild? The one thing I felt worried about? Posting their lives on social media. Now that’s just asking for something bad to happen. So although, yes, it was a sweet story, I think some balance would have made the story a lot more interesting; maybe a touch of darkness, something to get worried about before the HEA happens.

What happens if they take a night to explore the sexual tension that is so intense between them? Can their friendship go back to what it was or will the dynamic be changed forever? I loved that the relationship when it evolved was based on such a strong friendship and mutual respect for one another. There was humour and steam with characters you cannot help but fall for and whose story I was fully invested in. I loved the relationship that both Stone and Jackson have with their family and friends. The secondary characters were engaging and really did add an additional layer to the story.

This is Stone Zenith and Jackson Pearce’s story and what a wonderful love story One Time Only is. Jackson is rock star Stone’s bodyguard but he not only works for the man he secretly crushes on, he also classes him as his best friend so that means many lines that shouldn’t be crossed..... I read this book after reading the prologue book, Maybe This Time, which is a fairly simple story of Stone the rock star, and his bodyguard, Jackson. As soon as they see each other, there is an immediate attraction. The book continues with that theme, and as they become friends, the attraction grows but Jackson feels that due to Stone being his boss, he must not cross the line but must concentrate on doing his job. I must admit that I was hoping for something deeper with this book but, unfortunately, the story continues in that vein. The story is very sweet and all the characters are very nice and sweet. Even all of Stone’s fans are sweet. There really is no angst, no nasty comments on social media and no hint of any danger even though the subject matter just opens itself up for something dangerous or scary to happen to Stone. Most of the main scenes take place in Stone’s hotel room. We don’t get to see Stone’s interaction at meetings, nor the process of him writing songs or practicing his guitar or whatever else famous singers do to keep their dream alive, we don’t even get a visual description of any of his shows. Where is the guitar-wailing rock star that drives the fans so wild? The one thing I felt worried about? Posting their lives on social media. Now that’s just asking for something bad to happen. So although, yes, it was a sweet story, I think some balance would have made the story a lot more interesting; maybe a touch of darkness, something to get worried about before the HEA happens.

This is one of the first MM sexy romances that I’ve read. I wasn’t sure that I would get into it, but now stand corrected. So much anticipation, tension and absolute hotness! And so very hard to put down! An awesome story, lovable characters and lots of very hot sexy times. Loved it!

For an author who has only written a couple of MM romances, Lauren Blakely certainly has a flair for the genre. This was another great read and I was totally engrossed from the first to the last page and resented when real life got in the way of reading. This is rock star, Stone Zenith and his extremely hot bodyguard, Jackson Pearce’s story and what a fabulous story it was. If you loved A Guy Walks Into My Bar as much as I did, then this book is for you. Despite the attraction that sizzles between them neither have acted on it. What happens if they take a night to explore the sexual tension that is so intense between them? Can their friendship go back to what it was or will the dynamic be changed forever? I loved that the relationship when it evolved was based on such a strong friendship and mutual respect for one another. There was humour and steam with characters you cannot help but fall for and whose story I was fully invested in. I loved the relationship that both Stone and Jackson have with their family and friends. The secondary characters were engaging and really did add an additional layer to the story.

I really can’t believe this is only the second MM romance by this author and the first thing I need to say is, this really shows how talented and how diverse Ms Blakely is with her strong writing skills. This is Stone Zenith and Jackson Pearce’s story and what a wonderful love story One Time Only is. Jackson is rock star Stone’s bodyguard but he not only works for the man he secretly crushes on, he also classes him as his best friend so that means many lines that shouldn’t be crossed..... The attraction is mutual but neither of them have acted on it but what happens when they decide it’s time to explore the sexual tension in the room, will their friendship survive and will the working relationship be changed forever...... This book ticked all my boxes, I loved the characters and I loved the witty banter they shared, I laughed and I swooned as I watch Jackson and Stone move from friends to lovers. This is a gem of a read that is very special and it will stay with me long after I read the final words.
